“A while back, I went to my doctor, believing I had hurt my knee while swimming. He took one look at my red, swollen leg and told me to go to the Emergency Room immediately, because it looked to him like I had a blood clot. It turned out I had clots all along my left leg, from the ankle to the hip, and at the hip, the vein was 99% blocked. Shocked, scared, powerless, angry, and fragile don't even begin to describe the whirlwind of emotions I experienced during the week I ended up staying in the hospital.

“I have been visually challenged most of my life. I am exceptionally myopic (nearsighted) and in the past ten years have developed Uveitis (an inflammation of the fluid in the retina) and glaucoma. Recently I have been experiencing additional unexplained loss of vision. Visual field tests revealed a 25% loss of vision in my left eye with no known cause or treatment. I was petrified about losing my sight completely, as neither my ophthalmologist nor vitreo-retinal specialist could determine why I was unable to see.

Inflammation Resolved

Let me begin by saying, for years I am one of those people that was not a true believer in natural-type supplements and this is directed to all you skeptics or non-believers, as I was one of you for over 50 years …

 

In April 2008 I was driving home from work as I was crossing a busy intersection I was hit by a vehicle that ran the red light. I went from 45 mph to an instant stop that caused a severe bilateral whiplash and strain of the trapezium muscle on the left side of my back and several weeks later an MRI revealed I also suffered protrusions, bulges and a herniated disc throughout my lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine along with a tremendous amount of nerve pain to the left side of my upper body (arm, neck & back).

 

After several rounds of conventional physical therapy wherein neck traction was attempted and several months of deep tissue massages, I continued to have severe pain throughout my entire upper left side with extreme nerve pain running up my neck and down my left arm. I was taking several different medications for muscle inflammation, muscle relaxers and pain medication. In fact, at times the pain became worse. While following the physician’s conventional medical care, and as several months passed, I just could not get past the point of the constant severe nerve and muscle pain in my back and arm as I could not get keep the swelling in my trapezius muscle and surrounding area from returning, which prevented the nerves from healing. I would constantly ice and use moist heat six to seven times a day to no avail, it only brought temporary relief.

 

I made a decision to try chiropractic therapy since I was not making any progress with conventional medicine and the medications I was taking made me nauseous and having diarrhea on a daily basis. Upon my chiropractor’s recommendation I began taking Isotonix OPC-3 in early December 2008. Within 3 days of taking OPC-3 the swelling started to subside without flaring up as previously. Within a month of using OPC-3 the swelling was not returning, which has allowed me make significant progress and my nerves now have a chance to begin healing. It has now been approximately 2-1/2 months since taking OPC-3 and I am now able to return to work. I still continue to take OPC-3 daily as I am still healing. I am still healing and OPC-3 has made a significant difference in this process and I honestly believe I would not be at this point if it were not for OPC-3.

 

Finally, I would also like to mention the additional benefits I have experienced since taking OPC-3. In the past I have had problems for years with sinus drainage and allergies that have only gotten worse over the years and to keep it in check I would take Claritin-D, from behind the pharmacist’s counter. Since taking OPC-3 I have not taken a single Claritin-D pill and my gagging, take your breath away cough has almost been eliminated all together. My skin also does not seem to be as dry as usual this winter as well. I also have not experienced any constipation. Over the past couple of years I have also battled the pain of tarsal tunnel syndrome, which has seemingly disappeared, amazingly. I have had take cortisone shots for the pain in both ankles in the past and since being on OPC-3 I have not had any pain, hence no more cortisone shots, YEAH!!! Also, from my accident, when my air bag went off in my steering wheel, my arm flew back and slammed my elbow into the hard plastic console causing damage to the olecranon bursa – very painful to the touch and very difficult to put the elbow down on a surface due to the tenderness. This bursa allows the elbow to bend and straighten freely underneath the skin. Several times a month, the bursa would flare up where you could not touch that area of the elbow. My conventional physician informed me that the only way to remedy the inflammation is through a cortisone shot or surgery to remove the bursa. Since taking OPC-3 I have not had any inflammation in the bursa. I am sure as time passes I will find additional benefits from taking OPC-3. I just can’t say enough the benefits I have experienced so far taking OPC-3.
